Jeanne Newman

Jeanne Newman was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from Connecticut College and received her J.D. from University of Southern California Law Center. At the Law Center, Jeanne was an Editor of Southern California Law Review and received the Holbrook Award awarded by the faculty of the Law Center for the greatest contribution to Southern California Law Review. Jeanne became a member of the California Bar in 1980 and began her legal career as an associate in the entertainment department at Loeb & Loeb. After serving as a television business affairs executive at various companies, including MGM, Jeanne joined Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren & Richman, L.L.P. in 1988.

Jeanne primarily represents production companies, writers, performers and directors in the television business. Jeanne has specialized in helping international clients enter the U.S. television market. Some of Jeanne’s non-scripted production companies are Endemol (Big Brother, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Deal Or No Deal, Wipeout), Ryan Seacrest Productions and Reveille (The Biggest Loser, The Office, Ugly Betty), who Jeanne reps along with Craig Jacobson, Shine Limited and The Magical Elves (Project Runway, Top Chef). With these clients and others, she has helped create new business models in a new business.

Her other notable clients include: showrunner/creators such as Amy Sherman Palladino (The Gilmore Girls), Ann Donahue (CSI: Miami), Tim Kring (Heroes), Matt Weiner (Mad Men), among many other drama and comedy writers.

She is a mother of 23 year-old twins and a 15 year-old boy. Jeanne and her husband Gary own and operate Jorian Hill Vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley where they produce Rhone varietals.
