Phil Faircough is the US-based EVP of Development and Production for the NHNZ group of companies. Since joining NHNZ, in March 2011, Phil’s launched 25 hrs of shows ranging from a vintage clothing series to a live Shark show.
Before that Phil worked at LA based prodco, Creative Differences, running development and production on a numerous series and specials, such as Time Warp. He was intimately involved as executive producer and producer on several of Werner Herzog’s documentaries including the acclaimed Grizzly Man, the Oscar nominated Encounters At The End Of The World and most recently the 3D film Cave of Forgotten Dreams.
Phil spent 3 years as a network executive at Discovery Channel, working as SVP of production and briefly acting General Manager.
Before working at Discovery, Phil held senior positions at the BBC and ITV – and had extensive production experience in the UK, including the acclaimed BBC Natural History Unit where he was an executive producer and head of the commercial production unit. He’s worked in many roles and multiple genres including live nightly news, where he has been producer, reporter and host. He was also the creator, director and producer of various children’s shows including The Animal Magic Show.
