What I Did, What I Learned
Thursday, January 26, 2017
11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
SALON ABC
If you started a non-fiction production company 20, or even 10 years ago, you were the beneficiary of an international boom in factual and unscripted content, profitable networks in a growing cable industry, and confident programming execs looking to take risks and make noise. But as Lou Reed once sang, "y'know, those were different times." In today's more competitive, and some might say combative climate, business is done differently and even the veterans never stop learning. In this session, you'll hear from those who built their businesses in the "boom" days and find out what they learned to prevent going bust, as well as from those who are now marrying interdisciplinary smarts with good old entrepreneurialism to set up shops today.
