Peter Tarshis currently serves as an Executive Producer for A&E and LMN. In this role, Peter has produced several successful series for both networks, including A&E’s The First 48, After The First 48, The Killer Speaks, amongst others and such specials as The First 48: The Case that Haunts Me and O.J. Speaks: the Hidden Tapes. For Mr. Tarshis has overseen LMN’s highly rated, critically acclaimed specials Murder in Enchanted Hills, Footsteps in the Snow, My Uncle is the Green River Killer, and The Secret Tapes of the O.J. Case and the series My Crazy Ex and Codependent among others.
Since joining A+E Networks in 1990, Peter has served as one of the founding producers in the documentary production unit, as the Director of Programming and Production for the International Division, and as Head of Programming for BIO.
In his previous role as Director of Programming and Production, Peter oversaw the international production and programming activities for A+E Networks, working closely with joint venture partners and affiliates of HISTORY and BIO.
Peter was the Executive Producer for the BIO series Mobsters, Psychic Investigators, Urban Legends, and Gangsters: America’s Most Evil as well as various network specials, including Animal House: The Inside Story and Jeff Dunham: Birth of a Dummy, both which set ratings records for the network.
Peter is an Emmy recipient for Biography: The Google Boys, as well as earning several Emmy nominations.
Earlier in his tenure, Peter taught literature and writing and directed the drama program at the Blind Brook High School in Rye Brook, NY.
Peter graduated from Union College in Schenectady, NY, as well as completed graduate work at Colgate University. He currently resides in NY with his wife and children.
