Derek Blum is an agent in the Alternative & Factual Programming department at APA, one of the largest diversified talent agencies in the industry with headquarters in Beverly Hills, New York, Nashville, Atlanta and London. Blum’s primary focus is packaging and selling original content with the agency’s producer and on-screen talent clients.
Since its launch in late-2006, APA’s AFP Department has become an industry leader, representing the creative and business interests of award-winning production companies, producers, directors, writers, presenters and branded personalities across media platforms throughout the world. The department provides their clients and buyers with a premiere level of packaging and staffing services across all genres of alternative and factual programming. Moreover, the agency’s “institutional” approach to client representation continually generates opportunities for its AFP clients in other areas of entertainment (including fictional programming, publishing, podcasting, touring and merchandising).
Prior to joining APA, Blum served as an agent in the unscripted television department at Paradigm and an assistant in the unscripted television department at UTA. A native of Chicago, he attended the Arizona State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Film.
