Colin Nash is a Senior Vice President of MTV Series Development and currently manages the unscripted development team for the network. Recently highlighted as a “40 under 40” of outstanding young execs in entertainment, Nash oversees both development projects and current series for the network. In 2016, he managed 14 current series including some of the network’s largest franchises, The Real World, The Challenge, and True Life.
In 2012 Nash developed, piloted, and oversaw Buckwild, MTV’s highest rated new series of the year. In 2014, Nash was tasked to reimagine and revitalize MTV’s longest-running series, The Real World, which saw a 44% bump the following season. He also oversaw the documentary special Life Continued: Defeating Depression which won a Prism and Beacon award. In 2015, he developed the true crime documentary series Unlocking the Truth which assisted with the release of a wrongfully convicted prisoner from prison.
Prior to MTV, Nash was a freelance producer instrumental in developing, piloting and running MTV’s breakout hit The Hills, which reached almost 5 million viewers an episode at its height. He produced and directed on the historic franchise Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and developed and produced The Hills’ spinoff in New York, The City. In addition to MTV, Nash has producing experience for a variety of networks including ABC, The CW, VH1, TLC and The WB.
