Sahara Bushue

Director, Unscripted Series

NBC Entertainment

As senior vice president of alternative programming and development for NBC, Sahara Bushue oversees shows within the networks’ development slate and their current portfolio of alternative projects. Bushue joined NBC through the Page Program in 2008 and soon became a coordinator in the alternative department. She was elevated to manager three years later before rising to vice president in 2017. Previous series for which she was responsible include The Sing-Off, Hollywood Game Night and Little Big Shots.

Bushue currently oversees America’s Got Talent, the #1 alternative summer series for 12 years in a row, delivering it’s most watched season in 2017 with more than 16 million viewers; World of Dance, that launched as summer’s #1 new series; and Ellen’s Game of Games, last season’s #1 new alternative series.

She is currently across the brand new winter edition of America’s Got Talent: The Champions while planning for season 14 of summer’s AGT. She is also overseeing the launch of Season 2 of Game of Games - and Season 3 of World of Dance, both air early 2019. She is handling three other shows within NBC’s development slate that will hopefully be announced very soon.

As part of her current responsibilities for each series, Bushue shepherds the creative process from inception to final delivery. She oversees formatting, budgeting, staffing, casting, production and post-production while also working closely with scheduling, marketing, PR, ad sales, legal, business affairs, research and program standards.

Bushue also identifies fresh ideas for development, seeks out new talent and works closely with many A-list executive producers, including Jennifer Lopez, Simon Cowell, and Ellen DeGeneres.

Bushue graduated with a broadcast journalism degree from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo.
