FYI Development Lab

FYI, along with Realscreen, has launched the FYI Development Lab, which will award a series of development deals of up to US $20,000 each for up-and-coming producers. The deadline for submissions has been extended to Friday, January 9, 2015 at 5:00pm EST. Submit here before it’s too late!

Producers MUST submit a 2-5 minute video pitch and a series paper pitch along with a 2-5 minute video sample of their company's work.

In the spirit of spotlighting the work of up-and-coming producers, only producers or companies who have yet to sell their first series on television are eligible.

Five (5) winners will be selected and then revealed at a special session at the Realscreen Summit on January 28, 2015.

The contest is open to registered delegates to the Realscreen Summit, who are permanent legal residents of the US and are 18 years or older. Full contest rules can be downloaded here.

FYI is collaborating with Realscreen to give up-and-coming producers a chance to develop innovative, unscripted programming for cable’s newest emerging lifestyle network.

What FYI is looking for:

FYI is very excited about the opportunity to discover and work with new and emerging producers. The network is are seeking simple, self-contained formats in each of the following categories: FOOD, REAL ESTATE, HOME RENOVATION & DESIGN, PERSONAL STYLE & MAKEOVERS, RELATIONSHIPS, DATING and WEDDINGS. In addition, FYI is seeking breakout talent in any of these genres. FYI strongly encourages entrants to submit projects falling within these categories.
