Brad Dancer

Brad Dancer is Senior Vice President of Programming Planning and Research at National Geographic Channel (NGC) and WILD. He oversees the distribution of content across linear and nonlinear platforms and day-to-day and long-term scheduling and planning. He manages all consumer research across programming, program development, marketing, communications, digital media and finance. He was also one of the company’s first 10 employees.

Under his leadership, NGC and WILD content has grown across multiple platforms such as natgeotv.com, Hulu, YouTube, Netflix, Amazon and others. He launched the network's first second-screen experience, and has produced multiple games and applications. 

Utilizing biometric research efforts, NGC studied the engagement effects of content, commercial breaks, on-screen graphics/snipes and more, making audience development efforts at NGC among the most cutting-edge in cable.

Previously, Dancer served as director of programming and research for FOX 5 in D.C. At 26, Dancer was one of the youngest people ever to manage the programming and research areas for a top 10 market station. Prior to that he was research coordinator at UPN 50 in Detroit. At 23, he was director of research for FOX 22/UPN 28 in Raleigh.

Dancer has an MBA from the University of Maryland University College and graduated from Purdue with a degree in film studies and telecommunications.
