Betsy Ayala currently serves as Senior Vice President of Production & Development for HGTV where she oversees the development and production team and is credited with such hits as Rock The Block, Good Bones, and Windy City Rehab.
She joined the company in 2016 as Vice President of Programming. During her time she has worked across multiple networks including Food Network, DIY, Cooking, and Polish Network TVN where she created Mediterranean Life for HGTV.
With more than 20 years of television and digital programming experience, Ayala is adept at managing all facets of programming from competition to live dailies and events to docu-soaps. Previously, Ayala was head of production at PTA Networks, a digital streaming television travel network and served as an executive producer for YouTube/Google channels. Ayala also served as Executive Producer and Head of New Development for Moxie Pictures, home of multi-season successes like Animal Planet’s Ice Cold Gold and FYI’s Arranged, which she created.
Her previous television experience includes developing and producing programming for luxury lifestyle network Plum TV, as well as the NFL Network, CBS Sports Network, NBC Sports and ESPN.
Ayala holds a master’s degree from Northwestern University in broadcast journalism and received her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University.
