Roger Henry is Vice President of Programming for MotorTrend TV (formerly Velocity), responsible for overseeing the budget, strategy and scheduling of all original programming and acquisitions for the network.

Henry joined Velocity in November 2015, guiding a programming strategy that has driven the network to exceptional ratings growth during a time of consolidation across the television industry. He’s overseen programming for the network’s most successful series and specials including Iron Ressurection, Texas Mtal, Bitchin' Rides, All Girls Garage, Garage Squas, Wheeler Dealers, Barrett-Jackson Live and more.

He has a wealth of experience launching and nurturing some successful brands at Discovery, Inc. across his career at the company. Henry began as a research analyst for Discovery Channel and TLC before serving as director of programming for Discovery Channel where he worked on the hit series Monster Garage and Mythbusters. Henry then served as director of programming for Discovery Health Channel before being upped to vice president of programming for Discovery Health Media. There he supervised the programming strategies for Discovery Health Channel and FitTV, and ushered in the Jon and Kate Plus 8 and 19 Kids and Counting franchises.

Later, as vice president of programming and development for Science Channel, he was instrumental in the development of some of the network’s highest rated programs including the hit series How It's Made and Survivorman, as well as the digitally re-mastered, landmark series Cosmos. As vice president of programming and development for Investigation Discovery, Henry also helped launch the hit series Homicide Hunter.

Most recently, he served as vice president of programming for Discovery Life and Discovery Family, where he was responsible for creating and executing the networks’ programming budgets and strategies, managing the day-to-day operations of the scheduling teams, and overseeing the networks’ acquisitions strategy.

Henry is a recipient of CableFAX Magazine’s “Most Influential Minorities in Cable”. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics with a concentration in marketing from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
