VICE

Subrata De is the EVP of Programming and Development for VICE News and the senior executive producer for the new series, VICE on Showtime. That series launched in March and delivers immersive reporting from the world's conflict zones and regions in transition. The onset of the pandemic and this American uprising have found the series adapting its storytelling, now from the streets of Minneapolis and on the frontlines of the fight against Coronavirus. Subrata was previously executive producer and showrunner for Vice Investigations on Hulu, and Vice on HBO, the Emmy-award winning weekly. Before joining VICE, she was a VP at ABC News, with oversight of domestic, foreign, digital and social media newsgathering.

She reinvigorated international storytelling there through her support and oversight of ABC News Features, a vertical launched during her time at the network and helped launch ABC News VR.

Subrata also spent a few years at MSNBC as the Executive Producer of Andrea Mitchell Reports, and at NBC News as a Senior Producer, reporting stories and producing Nightly News broadcasts from over 20 countries.

She got her start in journalism as a radio reporter for the CBC in northern Canada, where she grew up. Subrata is the recipient of many industry awards, including two DuPont’s, the Peabody, six Emmys, the RFK Journalism Award and a Gracie for Individual Achievement.
