Since joining the Left/Right team over ten years ago, Mary has worked on some of the company’s most prestigious projects, most recently as an executive producer on the documentary series The New York Times Presents and The Weekly, both collaborations with The New York Times, FX, and Hulu. The Weekly’s first season garnered nine Emmy nominations and four wins. Previously, Mary directed and executive produced the award-winning all-archival limited series Tricky Dick for CNN. Prior to that, she directed and produced the feature documentary Trumped, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival before its television premiere on Showtime. Before that, Mary executive produced the inaugural season of Showtime’s doc series The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth. Season one of The Circus was honored with IDA and Television Critics Association nominations, and the series is now in its 6th season. Additionally, Mary directed, produced, and wrote five films for Frontline on PBS, two of which received Emmy nominations.
Mary’s additional credits include multiple stories produced for the radio series This American Life, the Lifetime film Women of Honor with Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, the SXSW award-winning digital series She's the Ticket, the short doc Missed Connections, which premiered in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival before going on to play at over 20 festivals, and dozens of hours of non-fiction television for networks including History, PBS, Discovery and AMC.
Mary is a Wesleyan graduate and a lifelong New Yorker. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband (whom she met at Left/Right!) and her two young kids (both of whom are still learning their left from their right).
Left/Right is a Red Arrow Studios company.
