Katie Ozog

Senior Development Manager

Investigation Discovery

As the senior manager of development, Katie Ozog serves on the content strategy team for Investigation Discovery, where she is responsible for scouting, developing, and conceptualizing original series, specials and films for television’s preeminent true crime destination. ID currently ranks #4 in cable for Women during Total Day and is a top 10 network for Women in Primetime, and is available in more than 160 countries and territories. With one of the most robust content pipelines in the industry delivering more than 650 hours a year of mystery and suspense programming, Ozog is tasked with creating breakthrough and thought-provoking new content in the booming true crime space to engage with viewers both on-air at ID, while also creating content for the true crime vertical of Discovery’s new streaming venture, discovery+.

Since joining the development team in 2014, Ozog has contributed to the development of programs such as Fear They Roommate, Til Death Do Us Part, BTK: A Killer Among Us and the Khloé Kardashian produced series, Twisted Sisters. Most recently, she helped conceptualize one of initial true crime offerings on the discovery+ original launch slate, Onision: In Real Life.

With a passion for social justice, Ozog also shepherds series and specials through the acquisition process, specializing in documentaries for the network’s prestigious ID FILMS strand. She spearheaded the acquisition of the GLAAD- and Peabody-award winning film Southwest of Salem: The San Antonio Four as well as The Family I Had, a riveting documentary featured in the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival. ID’s latest film, The Witmans, debuted at the Philadelphia Film Festival and provided a devastating exploration of our juvenile justice system through the double tragedy of one family.

Ozog also assists with ID’s podcast initiative, developing original content including the newly launched Red Flags weekly talk show, The Clown and the Candyman and the Unraveled anthology series with Billy Jensen and Alexis Linkletter.

Prior to joining ID’s development team, Ozog served on ID’s production team and in her off-time, she expresses her creativity by writing and performing comedy.
