Jeremy Blacklow

Director of Entertainment Media

Jeremy Blacklow joined GLAAD in 2017 as Director of Entertainment Media, where he serves as a liaison between GLAAD and the film, television, music, and gaming sectors, working to ensure that the industry is equipped to leverage GLAAD’s research and resources to bring about fair, inclusive, accurate, and diverse representations of LGBTQ people and issues. In this role, he provides strategic counsel and manages key campaigns that bring the power of the industry to bear in order to accelerate acceptance for LGBTQ people.

Prior to joining GLAAD, Jeremy worked for 17 years as a journalist, with a focus on entertainment news. He began his career in New York City at NBC’s Weekend Today show, where he helped cover events ranging from the 2000 presidential election to the Iraq War, while also producing outdoor concerts on the Today show plaza. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2004, Jeremy has worked for companies including CNN, Telepictures, WhoSay, and NBC Universal. Jeremy spent five years as Managing Editor of and later spearheaded the editorial relationship between Yahoo! and CBS’s The Insider, appearing frequently on-air as a contributor.

A Seattle native, Jeremy is a graduate of Columbia University where he received his BA in History and English with an emphasis in American Studies. He wrote his thesis on the rift between the Gay Liberation Front and the Gay Activists Alliance in post-Stonewall New York, a topic that continues to fuel and inform his passion for LGBTQ advocacy work. In his free time, he’s also a proud 10-time AIDS/LifeCycle participant, an electronic music producer and DJ, and a pug fanatic and aficionado.
