Elan Gale, founder of TheYearOfElan Productions, is behind the smash success Fboy Island – now in its third season on the CW – and its successor FGirl Island, as well as the Taye Diggs-hosted Back in the Groove for Hulu, The One That Got Away and Cosmic Love for Amazon, and ABC’s Pooch Perfect with Rebel Wilson. In spring 2023, TheYearOfElan entered an exclusive unscripted overall deal with ITV America, through which Gale develops and produces projects propelled by his signature, character-driven storytelling and idiosyncratic take on traditional reality fare.
Prior to forming TheYearOfElan, Gale was an executive producer on The Bachelor and worked for more than a decade across 30 collective seasons of the franchise, including its spinoffs and offshoots.
On the scripted side, Gale is also an accomplished horror writer and producer, with his recent credits including Mike Flanagan’s critically acclaimed series Midnight Mass and The Midnight Club for Netflix; he also served as an executive producer on horror feature Agnes (2021), as well as the upcoming Lovely, Dark, and Deep (2023).
Gale also authored the irreverent self-help book You're Not That Great: (but neither is anyone else) in 2017.
