Tom Brisley, a BAFTA and RTS award-winning producer, is co-founder and Creative Director of Arrow Media. Tom’s creative vision and leadership have played an integral role in helping to establish Arrow Media as one of the world’s leading creators of factual content.
Tom has creatively led all of Arrow Media’s productions since its launch in 2011. As well as securing one of the UK’s first commissions for National Geographic from Disney+, for The Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, growing the company’s already well-established portfolio of nature programming, he has spearheaded Arrow’s foray into True Crime. The company
now makes a slate of returning series for Investigation Discovery and Discovery+ including: Body Cam, See No Evil and American Monster; and multiple crime feature-length docs such as: If I Can’t Have You: the Jodi Arias Story; JonBenet Ramsey: What Really Happened?; OJ and Nicole: An American Tragedy; and the recently-announced Who Shot Biggie and Tupac?
Powerful storytelling is at the heart of what Tom does best. Tom has also led Arrow Media’s push into science and space programming, developing a strong relationship with NASA. This partnership has resulted in the landmark BAFTA- and RTS-winning broadcast from the International Space Station Live From Space (a National Geographic Channel/Channel 4 co-
production); America’s Secret Space Heroes for the Smithsonian Channel; Apollo: The Forgotten Films for Discovery; and the recently-broadcast Brian Cox: Seven Days on Mars for BBC Two.
His many documentary credits include returning series America In Color, which delivered one of the highest ratings of the year for Smithsonian Channel, and spin-off series Britain in Colour and Australia in Colour; and highly acclaimed high-end feature documentary Under the Wire for History Films, BFI and BBC Four.
Prior to Arrow, Tom ran the factual TV output of Darlow Smithson Productions where he was responsible for creating and executive producing more than 150 hours of television. Previously, Tom worked as a producer/director in the independent sector and at the BBC, where he started his TV career as a graduate trainee.
Tom’s creative vision and leadership have played an integral role in helping to establish Arrow as one of the most admired factual producers in the UK. His credits include returning series America In Color, which delivered one of the highest ratings of the year for Smithsonian Channel; and highly acclaimed high-end feature documentary Under the Wire for History Films, BFI and BBC4. Tom has also spearheaded Arrow’s successful foray into the True Crime genre, which includes a slate of successful returning series for Investigation Discovery including Body Cam, See No Evil and American Monster. Tom’s UK credits include Inside Balmoral for Channel 5; Pearl Harbor: The Truth for Channel 4; and the landmark BAFTA- and RTS-winning Live From Space (a National Geographic Channel/Channel 4 co-production).
