Jon Sechrist is an independent consultant currently working with production companies focusing on Production, Development, Strategy and Sales implementing 20 years of experience honed at Disney, Viacom, and Discovery. His clients include Blue Ant Media, Twitch, Netflix, Radical Media, the Museum of the City of New York and premium directors, Joe Berlinger and Lisa Cortés. He is credited on over 1300+ hours of original content spanning documentary, news, live, lifestyle, crime and scripted titles with recognition from the GLAAD Media Award, Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Award and the Emmy Award. Recent projects include Legacy List on PBS, Oxygen’s The Jane Doe Murders, Netflix’s Crime Scene and Beyond the Stream for Twitch.

Previously, Sechrist held several roles in his 10-year tenure at Discovery growing from Executive Producer at TLC to Vice President at Discovery Networks International and to Senior Vice President at the Discovery owned production shingle, Betty. He was a key player in launching the lifestyle brand, TLC globally in 300+ million households/200+ markets/50 languages. He is credited with creating the hit Cake Boss franchise (spun off 4 additional series) as well as top-rated Sister Wives, Body Bizarre, NY Ink, BBQ Pitmasters and The Lottery Changed My Life.

Sechrist also worked as a programming executive at ABC/Disney overseeing All My Children and One Life to Live driving the lineup to #1 in Women 18-49 demo. He began his career at Viacom, working his way up through the ranks at MTV to be a core creative team member launching America’s first LGBT channel, Logo. He specialized in documentary strands and news programming including Advocate Newsmagazine with Rachel Maddow, CBS News on Logo and the live Democratic Presidential Forum with Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Sechrist graduated Summa Cum Laude from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
