Cecilia is Vice President of Development for BBC Studios Natural History Unit. Based in Los Angeles, Cecilia works closely with the NHU’s development team in the UK and is responsible for developing original series and features from the globally renowned Unit for the US market.
Cecilia has over a decade of experience developing shows for networks ranging from Netflix to Discovery, National Geographic and Animal Planet. Before joining BBC Studios in June 2022, she was a consulting development executive at A&E, Stronghold Studios and Hello Sunshine. Previously she was Vice President, Development at ITV America, where she was responsible for the BBC/Netflix series Win the Wilderness and Nat Geo’s Called to the Wild.
Originally from the UK, Cecilia moved to Los Angeles in 2013 to help launch British indie Twofour in the US, where she worked on original series such as Edge of Alaska for Discovery, Rocky Mountain Law for Nat Geo and Catching Monsters for Animal Planet/Discovery.
As a BBC-trained journalist, Cecilia is driven by a passionate curiosity about the world we live in, and specializes in creating natural history, adventure and documentary series from idea to execution.
