Tony Tackaberry is founder and CEO of Station 6 Productions.
Founded less than a year ago, Station 6 develops and produces unscripted series, premium documentaries and a diverse array of formats. The company has a first-look deal and broad creative partnership with award-winning production company Blue Ant Studios, a Blue Ant Media company, as well as a co-production partnership with Timestamp Media, founded by Harvard historian Vincent Brown and award-winning documentary producer Graham Judd, to produce historical docs. Already, Station 6 is in talks with a range of streamers and platforms about a number of projects, including a partnership with a two-time Academy Award winner as well as a new format built around a leading young influencer.
Previously, Tackaberry was CEO of Lion Television US. Under his leadership, Lion became a leader in true crime, boasting multiple marquee series on Investigation Discovery, including Dead Reckoning, Diabolical, Crimes Gone Viral, Deadline Crime with Tamron Hall and more. Tackaberry was responsible for rebooting Lion’s global format Ca$h Cab for Bravo, which surpassed 500 episodes in the US under his stewardship, and ushered the company back to its premium doc roots with Smithsonian Channel’s Just One Man, which follows the life of James H. Meredith, the first African American man to enroll at the University of Mississippi in 1962. Before joining Lion, Tackaberry worked for major international production companies, including Endemol, Freemantle and Tiger Aspect.
The name Station 6 was inspired by and an homage to Tackaberry’s grandparents, who were both beacons within the entertainment industry. His grandfather, Seth Holt, directed many films, including the critically acclaimed Station Six Sahara, which Martin Scorsese cites as a major influence.
