Kimberly Chessler is Vice President, Unscripted Programming, of Lifetime. Based in New York, she is responsible for developing and overseeing production of non-fiction projects for the network.
Chessler, who joined Lifetime in 2010, has been responsible for overseeing the development and production of the network’s hit docusoap Dance Moms, now in its seventh season starring Abby Lee Miller. The well-known series has led to several franchise projects that Chessler has overseen including, Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition and Abby’s Studio Rescue.
Other projects under her purview include the docuseries Preachers’ Daughters, Atlanta Plastic, BAPS and The Mother/Daughter Experiment.
Prior to Lifetime, Chessler was at Oxygen for ten years, during which she oversaw six seasons of Oxygen’s highest rated series The Bad Girls Club, as well as 150 hours of Snapped, its longest-running series, and the programs Dance Your Ass Off and Love Games: Bad Girls Need Love Too.
Originally from New Jersey, Chessler graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. She resides in New York with her husband, David Itskowitch, and their son.
