In his role, Eyres will be responsible for expanding the company’s US footprint and serve as a chief point of contact for all of Plimsoll’s factual US-based business.  Eyres has a long history with Plimsoll, having served as network programming executive across National Geographic’s Emmy-nominated docuseries Hostile Planet, Earth Live and the two-time special Yellowstone Live.

With dozens of unscripted television and film credits to his name, Eyres spent the last decade as SVP of Unscripted Production and Development for the National Geographic Global Channels, overseeing a slate of more than 300 unscripted hours a year of series, formats and documentary films created in tandem with some of the world’s greatest storytellers. He played a key part in the launch of the National Geographic tile for Disney+ in November 2019, having shepherded the development and production of blockbuster content headlined by A-list talent.  

Among his many credits include Disney+’s Limitless, featuring global megastar Chris Hemsworth; Will Smith’s Welcome to Earth; the Emmy-nominated series The World According to Jeff Goldblum; and Beyond Belief with David Blaine.  On the linear channel, his credits include mutli-Emmy award-winning, genre-defining series Life Below Zero, as well as long running series including Brain Games, Running Wild with Bear Grylls and Trafficked with Mariana Van Zeller. 

 Between 2016-2019, Eyres was a key team member in launching National Geographic Documentary Films, responsible for developing a premium slate of content for theatrical release, festival circuits and television distribution.  His credits include the Emmy-winning LA 92; the Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning The Cave; the Critics’ Choice winner and BAFTA Film Award nominee The Rescue; and the Academy and Emmy-winning global phenomenon Free Solo.
