Universal Television Alternative Studio

Minerva Lopez is Senior Vice President, Development, Universal Television Alternative Studio (UTAS), a division of Universal Studio Group. In this role, she manages a slate of over 20 projects in every genre, including true crime and premium documentaries. She reports directly to Monica Rodman, EVP, Development, UTAS.

Lopez collaborates with talent and third-party producers to support, shape and deliver on their creative vision in all stages of development, from concept through execution. She supervises and manages current pilots, presentations, and network series developments while aligning creative brain trusts. Lopez has aided in the development of Blind Date for Bravo, Baking It for Peacock, and most recently, the studio’s second Dick Wolf true crime series for Oxygen.

She started at UTAS as a development producer working on formats and talent-based concepts for NBC and its sister networks Bravo and E! Entertainment. She then transitioned over to NBC Universal’s Digital Lab as a Supervising Producer to oversee lifestyle content, including current series, development projects and the Labs’ first series for Snapchat.

Prior to joining UTAS, Lopez was a manager of development for 3 Ball Productions and a development producer for Maverick All2Media. Her production credits include I Love Kellie Pickler Season three, Catch a Contractor Seasons One-Three, My Cat From Hell, and many more.
