Executive in Charge of Production and Development, Unscripted

Susan Taylor is an experienced media executive with an expertise in unscripted content. In her current role as Executive in Charge of Production and Development Susan has been instrumental in helping to build the CBC’s Factual Entertainment Department.

Currently Susan is overseeing season two of The Great Canadian Baking Show, Canada’s Smartest Person Junior, the 2019 Juno Awards and the 2018 Canadian Country Music Awards. In addition to these titles she is also responsible for overseeing one of the the networks fastest growing digital verticals, CBC Life.

Susan has overseen a number of critically acclaimed and award winning series including This is High School, Keeping Canada Alive, Keeping Canada Safe and True North Calling.

As co-creator of The Hour, George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, Steven and Chris and The Goods, Susan has a demonstrated ability to create original programs that meet network goals – namely developing innovative content that attract new audiences on all platforms. Recently Susan has also been involved in a number of original digital series including Living with E`s (Mary Walsh and Cathy Jones) and Kids That Are Kind of Amazing at Stuff with Gerry Dee.

In addition to her extensive production experience Susan is also very involved in working with external producers to develop new original unscripted content for the CBC.
