Mikael Osterby is responsible for non-scripted acquisitions at SVT. SVT (Swedish Public Service Television) is the biggest TV-station in Sweden and publishes over 1000 hours of factual acquisitions yearly. Mikael’s team focuses mainly on acquisitions and pre-buys for the station. In Scandinavia, on-line viewing is the most important focus and factual content has to work on their iPlayer service. SVT still runs the biggest linear channel in the region and broadcasts traditional specialist factual, as well as always looking for the latest trends and formats.
Mikael joined SVT International in 2006 after ten years in the business as producer of local content, in addition to a couple of years working at the scheduling department at SVT. He started his career working developing pilots and working with program development.
