Fay Yu serves as Senior Director of Development for Animal Planet. In this role she is responsible for bringing new series and specials to Animal Planet while supervising the development and production of concepts to green light, in addition to maintaining the quality of current series through production and delivery. Additionally, Yu identifies writers, producers and talent necessary to develop compelling new characters and programming. The most recent series Yu developed for the network includes Coyote Peterson’s upcoming series that will premiere later this year.

Before joining Animal Planet, Yu was an original member of the team that developed and launched Destination America and as Director of Development and Production she developed and produced several of the foundational shows on the network, including Ghost Brothers, Ghosts of Shepherdstown Ghost Asylum, BBQ Pitmasters and Buying Alaska. She also served as Executive Producer for Exorcism: Live! Prior to joining Discovery, Yu was Manager of Original Programming at Food Network and earlier worked at HGTV.
