Supervising Producer Film & TV, Shopify Studios

Shopify Studios

Pam Silverstein is supervising producer of TV and film at Shopify. Leveraging more than 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Silverstein brings to Shopify a wide range of production and development expertise, encompassing TV, film and digital – including originals, adapted material and branded content.

Silverstein began her entertainment career in ICM’s book department, negotiating author’s/journalist’s subsidiary rights for television and film. She transitioned to literary manager at Key Creatives working with clients Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, Christopher McQuarrie and Dara Resnik. Silverstein then moved to New York where she was the development and production executive in the media division at Scholastic.

Prior to Shopify, Silverstein served as editor-in-chief, managing director and executive producer at news media website Notable Life, where she conceived, assigned and edited the site’s digital/video, editorial and social content. She also oversaw Notable Life’s team of content creators/influencers, social media producers, integrated marketing sales execs and an extensive roster of contributing writers. During her time there she also produced and directed the digital series Daryn Jones Live for CBC digital.

Silverstein’s previous experience in the digital space includes her tenure as vice president of production, branded content and digital strategy for the wildly popular blog Mommy Shorts, which garners more than two million monthly page views. Silverstein joined the blog in 2015, producing all digital content – serving as executive producer on The Mommy Shorts Show, sponsored by Pampers, and All State’s Extraordinary Family.

Silverstein also spent more than two years at MGM as director of development and production – serving as production executive on numerous films, including Hot Tub Time Machine and the remake of Red Dawn. She was also producer and special projects manager for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), where she conceived and ran TIFF Rising Stars.
