Daniel A. Schwartz joined Travel Channel in 2008 as a director of programming. His work as developer and executive producer of the network’s highest rated series – the original Man v. Food, Ghost Adventures and Expedition Unknown – have helped Travel Channel achieve double-digit ratings growth. Schwartz was promoted to his current role as vice president of production and development in 2018.
Recently, Travel Channel posted its highest rated day ever on 10/31/18, driven by the successful Ghost Adventures Live – a four-hour live special that Schwartz oversaw. Travel Channel also saw its highest rated telecast ever this year – with the record set by the season finale of Ghost Adventures on 7/14/18. For Schwartz, his ten years of work on the series have paid off!
Schwartz got his start in television at E! Entertainment where he produced and directed 34 half-hour episodes of the landmark series, Mysteries & Scandals, including episodes about Marilyn Monroe, Bela Lugosi, Bing Crosby, Bette Davis, Ed Wood and others.
Schwartz graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. degree in Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard University. He speaks and reads French and German.
