Talos Films

Julian P. Hobbs is co-president of Talos Films, a NY based production company founded with seasoned executive and producer Elli Hakami. Talos is currently producing a feature documentary for HBO, multiple series across Discovery Communications, a scripted series with Issa Rea’s Color Creative and “digital detox” series with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ Milojo Productions. Talos launched their company with the award winning and critically acclaimed eight hour docu-drama America’s War on Drugs for History Channel.

Prior to Talos, Hobbs was Vice President of Scripted and Factual development and production at History, where he oversaw The Bible and Vikings as well as developing and producing numerous hits including: Pawn StarsStorage WarsCounting CarsIce Road TruckersAmerica: The Story of Us, and the Emmy Award winning Gettysburg. Hobbs also headed up History’s feature documentary unit, executive producing films including Werner Herzog’s Cave of Forgotten Dreams and Errol Morris’ The Unknown Known. At Discovery Channel, Hobbs executive produced some of the Channel's most successful programs, including The Flight that Fought BackOcean of Fear and Academy Award™ nominated Encounters at the End of the World. Hobbs’ independent feature documentaries and dramas have screened at festivals around the world, been theatrically released and aired on Sundance Channel and IFC.
