Samuel Kissous is the founder and president of Pernel Media, a creative and diverse independent TV production company listed as a “Realscreen Global 100” company in 2019 and 2020. Headquartered in Paris and with offices in London, the company produces a wide range of original factual programs as well as adaptations of international formats. Some of Pernel Media’s biggest hits include Legends of the Pharaohs for Canal Plus Group and Smithsonian Channel, The Real War of Thrones for France Televisions, 4 Babies a Second for National Geographic Channels International, and Wheeler Dealers France (the French version of the Discovery franchise for RMC Découverte). The business also launched a drama division with the co-production of English-language short 3 Sleeps by British director Chris Holt, while other scripted projects are currently in development.
Kissous started his career in TV production and journalism in Los Angeles. In 2004, he joined French network M6, where he was in charge of the local versions of successful international formats such as Come Dine With Me, Popstars, Jamie’s Kitchen, Wife Swap, and Farmer Wants a Wife.
