Paramount

Pamela A. Aguilar is Vice President of Original Documentaries at Paramount. In this role she’s responsible for strategy, development, and execution of new and innovative multi-platform unscripted content across the MTV Entertainment Group Studio, with a primary focus on the Smithsonian Channel, MTV, VH1, and Paramount+. She also establishes new partnerships for content creation in the emerging technologies space and creates initiatives to develop emerging and mid-career makers from underrepresented communities. 

Prior to joining Paramount, Pamela was on the Senior Editorial team at PBS where she identified, developed, and oversaw original unscripted programming across art, history, science, pop culture, natural history, and documentaries. She shepherded award winning projects like Philly D.A., No Passport Required with Chef Marcus Samuelsson, Somewhere South with Chef Vivian Howard, Big Pacific, narrated by Daniel Dae Kim, The Wonders of Mexico, narrated by Anthony Mendez; Emmy nominated, Going to War, and Emmy winning, Prideland.

Pamela serves on board of Women Make Movies and Jackson Wild, and on NALIP’s Diverse Women in Media Advisory Committee. She’s a graduate of The New School University in New York City and hails from the Golden State of California.
