Subrata De

EVP & Global Head of Programming & Development, Vice News

VICE

Subrata De is EVP for VICE News and the senior executive producer for the series, VICE on Showtime. The Emmy-nominated series delivers immersive reporting from the world's conflict zones and regions in transition. The onset of the pandemic, ongoing racial reckoning and civil unrest have found the series adapting its storytelling, now from the streets of cities like Minneapolis and on the frontlines of the fight against COVID-19.  Subrata was previously executive producer and showrunner for “Investigations by VICE” on Hulu, and VICE on HBO, the Emmy-winning weekly newsmagazine. Before joining VICE Media Group, she was a VP at ABC News, with oversight of domestic, foreign, and digital newsgathering. Subrata reinvigorated international storytelling through her support and oversight of ABC News Features, a vertical launched during her time at the network and helped launch ABC News VR. She also spent several years at MSNBC as the executive producer of "Andrea Mitchell Reports," and at NBC News as a senior producer, reporting and producing Nightly News broadcasts from across the U.S. and in over 20 countries including Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Mali. Subrata got her start in journalism as a radio reporter for the CBC in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where she grew up. She’s the recipient of many industry awards, including three duPont’s, the Peabody, six Emmys, the RFK Journalism Award and a Gracie for Individual Achievement.
