Ia A. Robinson is Senior Director of Unscripted Development for BET Networks. In this role, her focus is on developing new programming for both linear and streaming platforms.
Previously, Robinson was Director of Programming & Development at Discovery Networks developing her original concepts from pilots through to series franchises such as Cutthroat Kitchen, Holiday Wars, and Outrageous Pumpkins. Robinson was responsible for creating brand extensions Chopped Junior, Chopped After Hours, and Chopped Sweets, while also steering established hits including Halloween Wars and Beachfront Bargain Hunt to ratings success. She began her career in development, and segment producing at MTV, to later becoming lifestyle producer at ABC’s Good Morning America, as well as producing for 20/20, pitching and crafting in-depth long form stories.
Robinson graduated from University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where she studied media & communications. She currently resides in New York City.
