Carolyn Lehman is Manager of Nonfiction & Alternative Programming for AMC Networks, responsible for overseeing current and in-development unscripted projects for three linear networks — AMC, SundanceTV, BBCAmerica — and streaming service, AMC+.
Lehman has been with AMC for over 5 years where she has worked on scripted drama companion content, social issue-based documentary features, pop culture documentary series like Hip Hop: The Songs That Shook America, natural history programs including Eden: Untamed Planet, and acclaimed true crime limiteds such as The Preppy Murder: Death in Central Park. This past fall, she helped launch True Crime Story on SundanceTV, a true crime franchise focused on highlighting and empowering unique and unexpected storytellers in the genre. As part of this umbrella, she worked on Indefensible in which host Jena Friedman uses her unflinching comedic point of view and disarming interview skills to tackle the “why” and “how” of the crimes themselves and of our often-dysfunctional criminal justice system.
Lehman’s career started in unscripted casting at Bray Entertainment on shows for Food Network and Science Channel, where a deep passion for development was born.
Lehman graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies and Film & Media Studies.
