Speaker Ben Barrett
Ben Barrett is known for pioneering new models of production financing and distribution for television production. As the Global Head of Content Financing and Partnership at Blue Ant International, he works closely with both Blue Ant and external production businesses to secure production financing and also sourcing content and new partnership opportunities for the company.
Ben started his TV career at sports and adventure distributor Extreme International, where he became Managing Director in 2000 and a co-founder of the Extreme Sports Channel. Upon sale of the business he joined Zig Zag Productions as Head of Distribution and Commercial Ventures and became Commercial Director in 2008. In 2010, he set up the commercial consultancy Ben Barrett Consulting, focusing on co-funding, rights exploitation and commercial affairs for a range of UK and international producers. In 2013 Ben joined forces with Lilla Hurst to set up Drive, which established new models of production financing and distribution and grew into an established distribution business which was acquired by Blue Ant International in 2022.
