Julia Alexander is the Director of Strategy at Parrot Analytics, a media research and entertainment firm where she advises clients at Fox Sports, Bungie, Lionsgate, and more, as well as a weekly analyst and columnist at Puck News.
Alexander is a leading expert on the changing economics dictating Hollywood, with a special focus on best customer acquisition and retention practices to create sustainable, scalable, and successful direct-to-consumer products. She has worked with clients in her role at Parrot Analytics on identifying and investing in whitespace content opportunities, acquisitions of production companies, and determining viable theatrical models in a post-COVID world. She also created the Producer Package, which aims to provide content valuation metrics and ongoing support for smaller production companies, agencies, and individual creators for their negotiations with partners.
Prior to her roles at Parrot Analytics and Puck News, Alexander was a journalist and content strategist at Vox Media, specifically working at The Verge and Polygon for a combined six years. In her time there, she covered the shift from linear to streaming, the business ethics of the creator economy within a user generated content ecosystem, and designed coverage verticals around these emerging audiences to grow readership at both publications.
