Speaker Myriam Lopez-Otazu
Myriam Lopez-Otazu, the Group VP Content & Acquisitions EMEA & Int’l joined Discovery networks back in 2013. Based in Madrid, Myriam manages editorial strategy working across three key areas: planning and internal library management; third party acquisitions; and multi-market commissioning across linear channels and discovery+.
During her time at the company, Myriam has held different content positions and has had the opportunity of working closely with global and local teams across channel launches and portfolio optimisations as well as the development and roll out of Discovery+. She oversees the international multi-market commissioning strategy, partnering with local and US teams in developing and producing key titles like Children of the Cult and True Love.
Prior to joining Discovery, Myriam was VP of Content Sales at Zodiak Rights for 5 years where she oversaw all sales activities, including formats, to Southern Europe and Latin America. She has also worked in RDF Rights and Steadfast TV, managing content sales and advertising funded content projects, as well as the commercial department of the public broadcaster in Madrid.
