Travel Channel

Charles Nordlander joined Travel Channel as director of development and programming in early 2016. His work as developer and executive producer of hit series including Bizarre Foods, Delicious Destinations, The Zimmern List and Man v Food has helped Travel Channel achieve the strongest growth and best ratings in its history, with a slate of new series arriving in 2019 that reflect the network’s turn toward the paranormal and mystery/adventure genres.

Prior to joining Travel Channel, Nordlander was part of the executive teams that took three networks—A&E, Food Network and History—from smaller successes to top ten cable powerhouses, helped greatly by shows he spearheaded, including Pawn Stars, Chopped, Ace of Cakes, Dinner Impossible, Bobby Flay’s Throwdown and Flip This House.

Outside of television, Nordlander served as head of original content for Redbox, developing scripted projects for the nation’s largest movie rental service. Earlier in his career, Nordlander was a partner in Glow in the Dark Productions, producing multiple series for leading cable networks and syndication. His adventures in television began as head writer and co-developer of the landmark PBS children’s series, Where in the World Is Carmen San Diego?
