Senior Executive Production & Development

A&E Network

Dolores Gavin is Senior Executive, Development & Production for A&Ea role she assumed in November 2019.  She is responsible for developing and executing new nonfiction franchises and formats. 

Gavin was previously Senior Executive, Development & Production at HISTORY.  She joined the network in September 2016, and spearheaded development team that produced such series as Truck Night in AmericaHunt for the Zodiac Killer, Battle of the 80’s Supercarsand The Food that Built America.  She previously worked at HISTORY from 2000–2009.  

Prior to joining HISTORY, Gavin served as Executive Vice President of Development at Megalomedia where she developed the successful UFOs: The Lost Evidence for the American Heroes Channel.  She previously served as Executive Vice President of Production & Development at Discovery Channel, where she spearheaded development on several hit programs, including Gold Rush, Bering Sea GoldAlaska the Last Frontier and Alaskan Bush People. Gavin also Executive Produced as well as developed programs such as Moonshiners and Sons of Guns.  In addition, she played a pivotal role in leading the network’s Shark Week franchise to one of the highest rated stunt weeks in its history. 

As Vice President of Development and Programming at HISTORY, Gavin was responsible for developing and supervising many of the network’s most successful series and specials during the channel's rapid growth and transformation to a top cable channel, including Ax MenIce Road Truckers, and the two highest rated specials in network history – 102 Minutes that Changed America and Life After People.  

Gavin began her career at DreamWorks SKG in Los Angeles, where she worked as a Coordinator in the Feature Development Division as well as a Supervisor in DreamWorks’ Animation Division. 

She is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, and received a Graduate Certificate in Media Management at The New School. She is the recipient of two Emmy Awards.
