VIRTUAL: Town Hall: Creating Change - Producing Content That Can Make A Difference
Perhaps like never before, audiences and content creators alike have a shared desire to engage with entertainment with a distinct point of view on issues that matter. We’ve seen series and specials have real impact on the stories they’re exploring and more and more, we are seeing how unscripted and non-fiction content can foster positive change. But in a polarized political and social climate such as today’s, some subjects remain risky to explore and require the utmost sensitivity across the board. As some of these issues -- for example, the abortion debate -- return to the spotlight, how can, and why should, stakeholders -- from programmers to producers to advertisers -- take a chance on programming that takes a stand?
