Speaker Greg Diefenbach
Greg Diefenbach is the managing director of premium documentary streaming service MagellanTV. Globally available across a wide range of platforms, MagellanTV offers a highly curated collection of award-winning factual content to members worldwide. In addition to the flagship streamer, Deifenbach and team have also launched six FAST channels in more than 20 countries, all fueled by MagellanTV’s content library.
A pioneer in the digital distribution of documentaries, in 2010, Diefenbach and his partner Thomas Lucas founded Alliant Content – a new-media venture dedicated to changing the way people access factual content. Within two years, Alliant emerged as a leading supplier of documentary programming across VOD platforms worldwide.
Diefenbach has long been passionate about both the creative and business sides of the documentary television industry. His experience prior to Alliant and MagellanTV includes roles at National Geographic Television, co-production work for Disney/ABC’s Devillier Donegan Enterprises and his tenure as senior vice president of television programming for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
Diefenbach’s work has been recognized with a number of awards, including the News and Documentary Emmy® Award and the George Foster Peabody® Award, among other honors.
