Donovan is Co-founder and Creative Director of Beach House Pictures, a Fremantle company. Donovan is across all content creation in the company, overseeing BHP’s development and production teams, while growing and managing business relationships in the company’s key markets in the US, China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia and Australia. Regular partners include top SVOD players Netflix, Amazon Prime, Warner Bros Discovery, NBCUniversal, Apple and Disney; in China, CCTV, CICC, Tencent and Bilibili; NHK in Japan; and MBC and Bros Studio in Korea. Donovan works with ease between genres, as well as between the scripted and non-scripted worlds, and is currently in development and production on a range of drama projects, from crime to action to sci fi. In non-scripted, Donovan was the showrunner for the Emmy nominated Netflix lifestyle series Mind Your Manners and produced Netflix Korea’s first true crime doc series The Raincoat Killer as well as the high-rated Netflix Indonesia true crime feature Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee & Jessica Wongso. Donovan was the EP on the Buzzies winning science series Evolve for Curiosity and Amazon Prime, the Max and Love Nature fantasy nat hist series Otter Dynasty, Insight TV’s car culture series Ride Life with Sung Kang and Discovery+ flagship survival franchise Ed Stafford: First Man Out. Donovan was also behind the original blockbuster Nat Geo & Tencent limited doc series China From Above, which pulled in a record 200+ million views in China. Donovan is currently producing an IMAX feature length documentary The Elephant Odyssey. He is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and is on the board of Bitsmedia, the tech start up behind Muslim Pro.
