Speaker Ben Barrett
Ben Barrett, known for pioneering new models of production financing and distribution for television production, serves as Global Head of Content Financing and Partnership at Blue Ant Studios. In this role, he works closely with both Blue Ant Media and external production businesses to secure production financing and sourcing content and new partnership opportunities for the company.
Ben started his television career at sports and adventure distributor Extreme International, where he became Managing Director in 2000 and a co-founder of the Extreme Sports Channel. After its sale, he joined Zig Zag Productions as Head of Distribution and Commercial Ventures and became Commercial Director in 2008. In 2010, he set up the commercial consultancy Ben Barrett Consulting, focusing on co-funding, rights exploitation and commercial affairs for a range of UK and international producers. In 2013, Ben joined forces with Lilla Hurst to set up Drive Media Rights, which established new models of production financing and distribution and grew into an established distribution business and was acquired by Blue Ant Media in 2022.
