Speaker Poppy McAlister
Poppy McAlister is Division Head of TVF International, the UK's leading independent factual distributor. Based in London, Poppy runs a team of dedicated sales and acquisitions executives that speak over 12 languages to distribute premium factual and unscripted programming across the globe.
Since joining TVF in 2019, McAlister has held roles as the company's Sales Manager and Head of Sales and Acquisitions. She is responsible for populating TVF's catalogue of award-winning documentaries and series and providing non-fiction producers with an international platform.
Poppy spearheads TVF's broadcaster and producer partnerships across the UK, North America, Australia and New Zealand, as well as running the day-to-day strategic operations across sales, acquisitions, production, marketing and finance. Poppy focuses on securing distribution rights through setting up first-look, development and output deals, as well as closing deals with global networks and streamers and serving as an executive producer on various TVF Productions.
In 2023 Poppy brokered a global Netflix deal for pioneering disability-first dating series, Down for Love and in 2024, was named one of Realscreen's Factual Under 40s.
