APA
Hayden K. Meyer is a Board Member, Partner and Head of Alternative & Factual Programming at APA, one of the largest diversified and privately-owned talent agencies in the industry, with offices in Beverly Hills, Nashville, Atlanta, New York and London. First founded in 1962 by former MCA executives, today APA represents the creative and business interests of writers, producers, directors, actors, comedians, presenters, musicians, intellectual properties, brands, production companies, and physical production facilities and staff across all major media platforms and disciplines of entertainment.
Since joining the agency in 2006, Mr. Meyer has orchestrated the transformation of its AFP Department into a market leader, whose clients include award-winning production companies, producers, directors, presenters, branded personalities and intellectual properties. Distinguished by their selectivity and unique business model that promotes unparalleled teamwork, Meyer and his colleagues provide their clients (and buyers) with a premiere level of packaging and staffing services across all genres of alternative and factual programming.
Together, APA’s AFP Department has been instrumental in the sales of hundreds of series, from long-running hits like Dance Moms (Lifetime), Ice Cold Killers (Investigation Discovery) and Kendra On Top (WE), to more recent programs such as Leah Remini: Scientology and The Aftermath (A&E), Talkshow the Gameshow (Tru) and Truth & Iliza (Freeform), to forthcoming episodics such as 50 Central (BET), The Joker’s Wild (TBS) and Nightcrawlers (Netflix). In addition, the AFP Department is one of the industry’s preferred suppliers of upper-level staff for top-rated alternative and factual series, including Bar Rescue (Spike/Paramount), Chrisley Knows Best (USA), So You Think You Can Dance (FOX) and The $100,000 Pyramid (ABC). Moreover, APA’s all-inclusive approach to representation continually generates opportunities for AFP Department clients in other areas of entertainment, including scripted programming, publishing, licensing/endorsements, podcasting and live event touring.
Prior to entering the agency business, Meyer began his entertainment career in freelance film and television production. He grew up in South Florida and attended Northwestern University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications. Presently he resides in Encino, California with his wife and their five children.
