Evan Shapiro (independent showrunner/writer/producer) has run IFC, Sundance Channel, Pivot and Seeso. He has produced or co-created comedies such as Portlandia (Peabody Award), Take My Wife, Please Like Me, Shrink, Harmonquest, Dinner For Five (Emmy Nomination), Trapped In The Closet, There’s Johnny!, My Brother My Brother and Me, HitRecord (Emmy Award), and Bajillion Dollar Propertie$; as well as docu-series such as Brick City (Peabody Award, Emmy Nomination, and dozens of documentaries such as This Film Is Not Yet Rated (official Sundance Festival selection). He is currently producing and writing a new pilot for POP and a new talk show series, developing a slate of more than 20 TV/ Theater projects, and serves on the boards of The Ghetto Film School, The American Theater Wing and Ars Nova and is an adjunct professor of TV at NYU.
