Warehouse 51 Productions
Carl has recently set up Warehouse 51 Productions, an independent production company that will house, fund and nurture production talent in the UK, to produce the highest quality factual and factual entertainment formats; and a production house where top talent from writers, producers and directors can get their ideas made and financed. Carl will be using 30 years of experience in production, production finance and distribution, together with international broadcaster relationships, to get the best ideas made.
Previous to Warehouse 51 Productions, Carl founded Sky Vision, a distributor of multi-platform entertainment, bringing content to life for audiences around the world by offering a boutique-style approach for all content providers to deliver a globally-managed distribution service. Boasting a top-flight international sales and acquisitions team, Sky Vision also provides producers with key market intelligence throughout the production development stage, as well as sourcing funding opportunities through coproduction and pre-sales.
Before the acquisition of Sky Vision Carl was CEO and Chairman of Parthenon, leading a highly experienced management team who controlled the creative, technical, financial and commercial direction of the Group. He accumulated formidable industry experience and knowledge, having produced and executive produced more than 600 hours of programming for global audiences and secured sales and output deals worldwide.
Carl founded Parthenon Entertainment Limited in 2002 as a producer and distributor of factual programming. Parthenon then expanded and, in 2008, the company launched Parthenon Kids under his leadership and vision. Carl drove the continued growth and infrastructure of the company, from its headquarters in London to encompass production and sales offices in Bristol, Canada and Munich.
Parthenon Media Group was formed in 2009 as parent company to Parthenon Entertainment and was owned outright by Carl. Carl radically grew the business both organically and through strategic acquisitions, to make it one of the UK’s leading independent TV media groups. Companies which form part of Parthenon Media Group included Bristol-based CGI and visual effects studios, 422 South; Canadian-based production company, Arcadia Entertainment; and London post-production sound studio, Barbershop Studios.
