16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom Executive Producer, Morgan J. Freeman, made a name for himself as a Sundance award-winning writer/director of Hurricane Streets, a film centered on the trails and tribulations of teenage life. The film became the first narrative film to win three awards at the Sundance Film Festival (Audience Award, Best Director, and Best Cinematography), and was distributed by MGM/UA the following year. Morgan next wrote and directed Desert Blue (Samuel Goldwyn), which marked the debut of Kate Hudson, and also starred Christina Ricci, Casey Affleck, Ethan Suplee and Peter Sarsgaard. Morgan then directed two videos for the breakout band Rilo Kiley and a season of the teen hit Dawson's Creek. In 2001, he helmed American Psycho 2 for Lions Gate Films, and in 2003 produced the groundbreaking MTV series Laguna Beach, followed by Piggy Banks (Gabriel Mann, Kelli Garner, Tom Sizemore), released by Lionsgate. His film, Just Like The Son – starring Mark Webber, Brendan Sexton III, and Rosie Perez – premiered to immediate audience and critical acclaim at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival.  It also won the Alice Nella Citta Prize for Best Feature Film at its European debut in Italy at the 2006 Rome Film Festival. Freeman most recently directed the 2009 film Homecoming starring Mischa Barton.
