Tom Huffman

SVP of Non-Scripted Programming

WGN America & Tribune Studios

As Senior Vice President, Unscripted for WGN America and Tribune Studios, Tom Huffman is responsible for developing content and building the portfolio of unscripted series for WGN America, as the newly re-launched cable network aggressively expands into original programming, and Tribune Broadcasting’s local stations across the nation.

Huffman joined Tribune Media Company in 2013 and is developing a slate of unscripted programming for WGN America and Tribune Studios, including the network’s first two unscripted series, Wrestling with Death and Outlaw Country, both premiering in early 2015.  Additionally, he oversees series for Tribune’s local stations, including Celebrity Name Game, hosted by Craig Ferguson and The Bill Cunningham Show.

Most recently, Huffman served as Vice President, Development and Production at Vh1, where he oversaw a number of popular unscripted series, including Rehab with Dr. Drew, Couples Therapy and the Hollywood Exes franchise.  Prior to joining Vh1 in 2009, Huffman was Vice President, Development at Shed Media US where he created and developed the hit Vh1 franchise Basketball Wives.  Before that, Huffman served as a Development Executive at Mark Burnett Productions.

Huffman is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s Cinema Production program and was recently named by Variety as one of Hollywood’s Future Leaders.
